Aerosmith front-man Steven Tyler wants to do a solo album.  The way he's talking, a solo album will sound absolutely nothing like an Aerosmith album.  Tyler reveals to Rolling Stone:

"I've got this itch in me to do a solo record, and that's what I'm gonna do next. I've got some great people that want to get involved in it. It's early on right now, but that's the itch I got. I got that itch to do something that's a lot different than Aerosmith."

Steven Tyler likes electronica, apparently.  When asked about who he would like to work with on a solo album, he mentioned Skrillex and Deadmau5.  Those are two of the biggest names in electronic music. Tyler explains, "I want to go out and explore things...I really want to take a little risk here and do something solo."

Tyler does not have a specific timeline for his solo record, but he plans on getting started early next year.

Aerosmith will play shows in Asia, Central America, South America, and the United States this year.
