Dave Grohl is apparently really excited to be playing drums on the new Queens of the Stone Age album.  Grohl talks to BBC Radio about the band and he was quite complimentary.  Grohl says the new Queens of the Stone Age album sounds, "completely ridiculous."  The Foo Fighters front-man also talks about the popularity of Queens of the Stone Age among other bands:

"When you walk into a festival backstage with Queens of the Stone Age, it’s like, the record stops. People stop and they stare, and it’s like, Queens of the Stone Age are, without question, the baddest rock and roll band in the world!"

Grohl was the drummer on the band's 200 album Songs For The Deaf, which was the band's most successful commercial album.  He also is the drummer for Them Crooked Vultures, a band that featured Queens of the Stone Age front-man Josh Homme on lead vocals and guitar.  On working with Homme, Grohl says, "He’ll say, 'Do that for forty-five seconds, over and over again, that’s become, like, part of the song, that is a big part of the song,' and that’s the way they work."
