Foo Fighters front-man Dave Grohl is finishing up the promotion of his Sound City documentary and is beginning work on the band's next album.  At a screening for his film, he gives Billboard an update:

"Well, we're just writing right now.  When we start working on a record, what I've found is we work best at our own pace, and sometimes it happens quickly and sometimes it takes awhile."

Grohl did share that he has a "crazy idea" on what he wants to do with the next record and that the album, "won't be a conventional record."

Foo Fighters released Wasting Light in 2011.  After significant touring, they went on "hiatus" in the Fall.  For the past few months, the band has toured as the "Sound City Players" and have been doing shows with various musicians from the Sound City film.
