Performing at the Grammys can be a little surreal and weird for musicians. Mumford & Sons were about to go on stage when their banjo player, Winston Marshall, was summonded by Elton John. The legendary British musician put the young Marshall at ease with a joke. Marshall explains:
"We were getting ready and were a bit nervous, a bit sweaty. Sir Elton goes, 'Winston, Winston, come over here'. So I went over I said, 'alright Sir Elton, what's up?' He goes, 'Winston, now would be a f#cking terrible time to get your c*ck out.'"
Mumford & Sons went on to win the night's biggest award, album of the year. They also kept their pants on.
