Green Day is canceling their remaining shows of 2012 and postponing concerts in early 2013.  The band already cancelled an appearance at New Orleans' "Voodoo Music Experience."  Now, they are canceling seven theatre shows in November and December.  Also, the band planned on going on an arena tour at the beginning of 2013.  Those shows are now postponed.  Bassist Mike Dirnt says:

“Obviously the timing for this isn’t ideal, but Billie Joe’s well-being is our main concern.  We are happy to say that Billie Joe is doing well, and we want to thank you all for the outpouring of support and well wishes that we have received, and we can’t wait to see you all again soon."

Billie Joe Armstrong and Green Day made headlines in September when the singer/guitarist ranted at the iHeartRadio Music Festival.  It was announced days later that he would be going to rehab.

Green Day will still release the second and third albums from their album trilogy, but the last album is coming sooner than expected.  ¡Uno! released on September 25.  ¡Dos! is coming on November 13 and ¡Tre! will now release on December 11.

Last week, Green Day posted the last twenty minutes from a September concert in New York.
