Guns N' Roses guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal says that fans should, "just forget about a new record until it happens."  He revealed that the band's current lineup has not recorded anything and if an album did come out, it would only be unreleased "old" music.  But, it is clear that he's itching to record:

"I'm all about making music; that's why I make music — to make music. So I'd like to really do that.I would be very happy if Guns N' Roses could do that. We'll see what happens. That's all I can say. I mean, at this point, we're just doing shows and doing shows and doing shows. And the shows are great and we're having fun and everything. But I've got the itch."

The band released Chinese Democracy in November of 2008, exactly 15 years after the band's last album, The Spaghetti Incident?  Writing for that album started in 1994, when original members Slash and Duff McKagan were still in the band.  The actual music on the record features various current and former members of the band.
