Kings of Leon will release a new album "sonner rather than later" according to bassist Jared Followill.  Jared is currently promoting his side project band Smoke and Jackal, but BBC 6Music wanted to know about Kings of Leon.  Jared says:

"We are in the writing process right now and it's coming along pretty quickly. We'll definitely get into the studio but we you know we have no plans of finishing it this year but definitely early next year, so I think people should expect something from us sooner rather than later."

The band released their fifth album Come Around Sundown in 2010.  Since then, the band has struggled.  They were forced to cancel several shows after front-man Caleb Followill was forced to go rehab.
