Kings of Leon bassist Jared Followill says the band has finished their sixth studio album and expects it to release in September.

Followill talked to NME about the sound of the album.  The bassist says, "I thought we were going to make a really mature album but I'm amazed how youthful it sounds. It's like a mix of Youth & Young Manhood and Because Of The Times."

Youth and Young Manhood was the band's first album and Because of the Times was their third.

The new album, which currently has no name, will be the band's first since 2010's Come Around Sundown.  Since then, several of the band members have gotten married and became fathers.  They were also forced to cancel a large chunk of their tour in 2011 due to front-man Caleb Followill's "exhaustion."
