Sonic Evolution is a series that features the Seattle Symphony and music from various Seattle music icons.  The series has adapted songs by Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, and Alice in Chains in the past.

Now, they're taking on Sir Mix-a-Lot.

The new orchestral arrangement was written by composer Gabriel Prokofiev.  He tells The Quietus, "All of the most famous people had been done.  But when I got the list, the one person who hadn't been done who I thought were really interesting was Sir Mix-a-Lot.  He's a Nineties rapper; he's quite humorous and a fun guy.  So I'm orchestrating two of his most famous hits, and he's actually going to rap on stage with orchestra."
