Watch Troye Sivan & More In Trailer For Gay Conversation Drama 'Boy Erased'

The first trailer for Boy Erased has arrived, and Troye Sivan has a feature on the movie’s soundtrack.

The film, starring Academy Award nominee Lucas Hedges, Sivan and Oscar winners Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe, tells the true story of author Garrard Conley, whose 2016 memoir inspired the movie based on the writer’s real experiences at Love in Action, an ex-gay Christian ministry that aims to convert members of the LGBTQ+ community by any means.

In the visual, a 19-year-old Conley (Hedges) finds himself coming to grips with his sexuality when he’s outed as gay to his Baptist parents (Crowe and Kidman). Consequentially, Garrard is forced with two decisions: be outcast by his family or participate in a gay conversion therapy program. Opting for the latter, Conley befriends other attendees like Gary (Sivan) who helps him realize the organization’s demanding methods are more traumatic than not, causing Conley to confront his faith and will to change.

The Australian singer also revealed he has a new song called “Revelation” in collaboration with Jónsi in the film as well.

In speaking about Boy Erased, Sivan said: “We were given the real source materials that they used to give kids when they would arrive at the camp. I would just kind of sit there flicking through all this stuff imagining, you know, what it must have been like, and you know, it's really heavy.”

The gay coming-of-age drama will release via Focus Features on November 2.
