Charlotte SHOUT! is a celebration of art, music, food and ideas in Uptown Charlotte taking place April 29 - May 11. Kicking off with the Charlotte Jazz Festival, and culminating with a three-day convergence, this celebration will feature exceptionally curated programming from around the corner and around the world. This year, SHOUT! is the grand finale of CLT250, the year-long commemoration of Charlotte's 250th anniversary. With 75+ concerts, installations, performances and everything in between, everyone can discover something inspiring.
MAY 9TH: ANTHONY HAMILTON
Proclaimed a "national treasure" by the Los Angeles Times, Grammy Award winning singer, songwriter, producer and actor Anthony Hamilton has achieved global sales of over 50 million albums. The North Carolina Music Hall of Fame inductee notably performed for President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle, cementing his place in history books as the "narrator of love."
MAY 10TH: UMPHREY'S MCGEE
The music of Umphrey's McGee unfolds like an unpredictable conversation between longtime friends. Its six participants - Brendan Bayliss [guitar, vocals], Jake Cinninger [guitar, vocals], Joel Cummins [keyboards, piano, vocals], Andy Farag [percussion], Kris Myers [drums, vocals] and Ryan Stasik [bass] - know just how to communicate with each other on stage and in the studio.
MAY 11TH: BLEACHERS
Bleachers is an American indie pop act based in New York City. It is the official stage name of songwriter and record producer Jack Antonoff, who is also part of the bands Steel Train and Fun. Bleachers' pop music was heavily influenced by the late '80s, early '90s and the high school-based films of John Hughes while still using modern production techniques.
MAY 9: RADHA AGRAWAL
Radha Agrawal is a community force. She is the co-founder, CEO and Chief Community Architect of Daybreaker, the early morning dance and wellness movement that currently holds events in 25 cities and more than a dozen college campuses around the world with a community of almost half a million people. She is a successful entrepreneur, author, speaker, DJ, inventor and investor, and was named "one of eight women who will change the world" by MTV.
MAY 10: KAI KIGHT
A violinist and keynote speaker who uses music as a metaphor to inspire self-realization. As a classical violinist turned innovative composer, Kai uses music as a metaphor to inspire individuals and organizations across the world to compose paths of imagination and fulfillment. Inspired by his own mother who, when diagnosed with cancer, revealed regrets of not bringing her ideas to the world, Kai is on a mission to spark a global mindset shift in which ingenuity is the norm, not the exception.
MAY 11: ROHIT BHARGAVA
Rohit Bhargava a leading authority on marketing, trends and innovation. He is the Founder of the Non-Obvious Company and previously spent over 15 years leading advising large organizations on digital and marketing at two respected global agencies: Leo Burnett and Ogilvy. Rohit is widely considered one of the most entertaining and original keynote speakers on marketing disruption and innovation in the world.
