Chernobyl Diaries actor Dimitri Diatchenko has passed away. He was 52.
According to reports, police discovered Diatchenko dead at his residence in Daytona Beach, Florida. Upon entering his home on Wednesday (April 22), CNN reported cops had found Diatchenko “unresponsive” and “kneeling with his face down in a reclining chair in his living room.” As of yet, authorities indicate there were no signs of foul play. As of yet, the medical examiner’s office has not determined his cause of death.
Apparently, Diatchenko’s co-workers decided to contact police after having gone days without hearing from the star, who one co-worker said the last he’d heard from was via a text message on April 19. The police report also revealed Diatchenko — best known as Uri in the 2012 disaster horror film — had been recovering from a recent injury he sustained while at work. He was supposedly electrocuted on April 13 and was taking time off, his co-worker indicated to police in the report.
Apart from his appearance in Chernobyl Diaries, Diatchenko also starred in several television shows including Alias, Bones, CSI: Miami, Criminal Minds and Sons of Anarchy. Additionally, the entertainer had also been known to do voice work for several video games and animated projects such as Family Guy and Nickelodeon’s 2012 show, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
